Is TT direct thru Intuit worth it?

by STEVE LARSON on 2003-10-08 18:30:01

I've always found it to be at least $10-15 more expensive to order directly
from Intuit. Best retail price I've seen for TT or Quicken has always been
at Costco.

I switched to TaxCut last year due to the registration fiasco. I will be
switching back this year, Turbo Tax is a much friendlier and prettier
package.

Is TT direct thru Intuit worth it?

I hate to say it but Tax Cut is 1/2 the price. TT9.95 and TaxCut=19.95..
for federal & 1 state. I need 2 states so TaxCut2.90 which is still less
than TT with 1 State. TT then wants an additional 29.95 for another state.
Have to give Tax Cut a try.

Try TaxAct. I got the federal, one state and a federal e-file for $17
because I bought it early in 2003. The deal is still very good though.
Check it out:

My mistake. Figures supplied were for Tax Act not Tax Cut. Better yet get a
program No Tax (CA only version).

OK gang - I'll go local this year. Thanks for the many posts. Maybe what
I'll do is send the card back to them telling them I've went to another
program this tax year due to registration hassles last year and see what I
get back, if anything - maybe a free trial to 'come home' :-)

I don't know, experience makes me think Intuit is a cold heartless bunch...
