Is TT direct thru Intuit worth it?

to confirms this. I read in the fourth or fifth paragraph down that
they just need to get sneakier at putting stuff like that in their
software. The article says they "aren't closing the door on DRM."
Allanson reiterates that "Intuit has not closed the book on adding
digital-rights-management (DRM) technology to future versions of
TurboTax." It's coming folks.. only later.. just a little sneakier
and better hidden.

Many, many years I have been using TT and Quicken. But, No more. And
once my version of quicken dies, I'm move'n on. Bye Intuit. You're
good... just not enough to insult me. Taxcut, burn me a copy this
year too.

I also find it interesting that with all the flak Intuit is getting,
it really is only the tip of the iceburg. I've talked with dozens of
people since my problems last year with TT, and not one person knew
the spy-ware was on their system or of the dishonesty of Intuit. When
they did find out, they were outraged. Hey.. I'm glad I could help
Intuit out.... ;)

I can't even imagine what Intuit will have to do to win my trust
again. Sad, really.

customers to have unfettered access to TurboTax 2002, said a spokeswoman
for Intuit. "

This basically says those CD's they just sent out in the mail free so you
could install and $activate$ will now work? But the DRM will still be
installed on the PC.

They are giving it away to encourage long time users to not have a break
and all history info gets carried forward providing you go back and redo
'02 with TT.

Do I have this right?

Well, I have no inside information, but this sounds as good as any
other theory I have heard :-)

I like the frozen yogurt myself.:-) I have been told by my local Costco
people that they are not handling Norton anymore. This was the answer I got
the other day when I shopped there for Norton Ghost and saw no Norton
products. I called OfficeMax and they sell Ghost and gave me a URL for
returning product to Norton for money back since OfficeMax does not give
money back but requires you to take another copy should you claim defect.
Gotta check out all the situations these days!
