ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 23, 2004--AvalonBay
Communities, Inc. (NYSE/PCX:AVB) announced today that its 2004 Annual
Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. Eastern
Time. Stockholders of record of the Company's common stock as of the
close of business on March 9, 2004 are entitled to vote at the Annual
Meeting. The meeting will be held at the Marriott Residence Inn - Old
